OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY FOR BABIES
Babies born preterm and at term who have been identified as high risk for developmental delay are referred to the Play Pod for Occupational Therapy.
Parent education and coaching is central to our early intervention approach. Parents learn how to set up the home environment and incorporate active learning strategies into their child’s everyday occupations to maximise their little one’s learning and development.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
Whether it’s learning to explore and play with toys, develop independence skills to dress, feel confident at kindy drop off, make and maintain friendships or prep readiness skills - a paediatric OT can provide individualised, goal-directed intervention with the option of in-clinic, home or community based occupational therapy.

WRIST AND HAND ORTHOSES
When a child has reduced active movement in their wrist and hand, an OT may recommend a wrist-hand-orthoses (often referred to as a splint). To provide a stretch to maintain the muscle balance of the wrist, finger and thumb muscles, an orthoses is made from low temperature thermoplastic and custom moulded to create a comfortable position for your child to wear overnight when they are asleep.
